My desire is to inspire you to ‘do what you need to do’, in order to ‘be who you want to be’. If you ever need to stretch yourself, I highly recommend trying something brand new and out of your comfort zone!
You could pick something like running a half marathon. This will help to move you forward and bring up all the beliefs you have hiding about yourself. Some of those beliefs might be, “It’s hard, I don’t like running, I don’t know if I can do this.”
When these beliefs surface realize it’s just a part of you that can never do or be enough that’s getting triggered. When those beliefs get triggered go back to focusing on what matters the most to you. How you do that is by asking yourself a few questions… What do I want? Be crystal clear about what you want?
Why do I want it? Get really clear about why you want it?
What strategy will I use? Am I clear about the strategy to get my desire?
Am I creating from the future version? As if it is already done. If not, imagine what it will be like having it, being it or doing it.
Do you have the courage to do what needs to be done to create your desire?
Answer those questions and see what comes up for you. When you can answer the questions above you will quickly get back on the right track. Are you stuck? If you can’t answer those questions, ask for help. If you need help, I’m a phone call away. You can schedule a complimentary breakthrough session with me by emailing me at Jolen@lighterWithin.com.
The choice is yours to be stopped or push through to success. Are you going to let one little thing stop or are you going to keep going and breakthrough your last barrier to success?
It was a beautiful Sunday morning. I was traveling with a friend to an event. A great day to travel, so we assumed, but it turned out it was race day at the race track. All of a sudden we got stuck in traffic. The traffic crawled along at the high speed of ten miles an hour with a lot of red brake lights, stop and go movement. My friend started to get frustrated and angry. She wanted to turn around and go home. I felt calm and wanted to move forward and go to the event. I could see the light ahead where the traffic started to flow. She couldn’t see it. For her, it was too far off in the distance. Was she being blinded by her frustration?
Are you like this?
Where in your life do you feel like stopping, quitting or doing something different? I looked at this driving experience, as an experience we all have in life. When life gets hard, we get frustrated. When things may not go as planned most people give up, but what if you just hung in there a little longer. Did you know the universe gives you one last test to see if you really want what you are going after before it shows up in your life? Also, what you want never shows up the way you expect it to show up. The question I leave you with is, “Are you going to stick with it and succeed or quit?”
The other day I was in a business training, when I heard, “You have to expand out of your comfort zone in order to grow and stretch.” I know we have all heard this before. It is nothing new, but today it took on a new meaning. It’s this new perspective that I want to share with you today.
In life, as we travel down the yellow brick road towards the Emerald City. We may run into a few challenges, obstacles or mountains that slow us down or get in our way. These bumps on the journey help us to grow, stretch and get out of our comfort zone.
Where in your life have you run up against a challenge? Look at your life, just for this moment. Where are you not moving? Where are you stuck?
My aha moment! I really don’t like exercise. I asked myself, “What don’t I like about exercise?” I really don’t like sweating and the pain I feel. Then, I asked myself, “If I broke through the pain and got used to sweating, how would I feel?” Great, was the reply! Here’s where the light bulb came on. If I pushed through being uncomfortable I would get used to it and then I would reach a peak of feeling stronger, and healthier.
In business, if you pushed a little harder through the uncertainty, or made more of an effort to finish that unfinished project you would breakthrough that uncomfortable feeling.
In conclusion exercise helps you to breakthrough being uncomfortable. Exercise teaches you how to be in the feeling of stretching and growing. Just for today go for a walk. As you reach the pain point or start to sweat, tell yourself that you are stretching and growing. Then let me know how it goes by leaving a comment.
